Radial fatigue testing is performed in a dynamic, pulsatile, temperature-controlled environment that represents the radial loading experienced by the stent or stent graft in vivo . Radial fatigue testing can be performed under pressure control or expansion control, and at frequencies of up to 60Hz. In addition, radial fatigue testing can be performed on devices as small as 1mm diameter, and as large as 50mm diameter, and can be performed in straight mock vessels or custom-designed mock vessels of different shapes. Typically, radial fatigue testing represents ten years of in vivo time, or about 400 million cycles.
